Sunlight reaching your skin contains two kinds of ultraviolet light that matter for skincare. A good daily sunscreen is built to address both.
UVB
→ Associated with sunburn. UVB mostly affects the outer layer of skin and is the main focus of the SPF number.
UVA
→ Associated with photoaging and deeper skin penetration. UVA is present throughout daylight hours and is what the PA rating addresses.

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. It indicates how well a sunscreen protects against UVB rays — the rays mainly associated with sunburn — under standardised testing. SPF 50+ is at the high end of the scale. Real-world protection depends on applying enough and reapplying.
PA is a rating system for UVA protection. It runs from PA+ to PA++++, and more plus signs mean a higher UVA protection grade. PA++++ is the highest grade in the system.
HourGlow is designed to blend comfortably without the traditional heavy white cast. How any sunscreen looks can vary with skin tone and the amount applied, so we suggest blending it in evenly.

Yes — HourGlow is designed as a daily sunscreen. As with any new skincare product, patch test first and stop using it if irritation occurs.
Apply it as the last step of your morning skincare routine, before makeup, and ideally around 15 minutes before going out in the sun.
Most people apply less than the amount used in SPF testing. A commonly used guide for face and neck is about two finger-lengths of product. Apply generously and evenly, and follow the directions on the pack.
Reapply at least every 2 hours when you're in the sun, and after sweating, swimming or towel-drying. Pair sunscreen with shade, hats and sunglasses on long days outdoors.
